I began to offer Digital post-production services in the mid-90s and this was one of the first assignments - the brief was to make an endearing funny face that was obviously not real, but was somehow believable

I soon got a reputation for humour and character people - this was one of a series for Araldite glue being able to replace household tasks!

Another in the Araldite Glue series - I had a wonderful team around me and a repertory theatre of actors who were fantastic models!
Casting & styling were a key part of the process and I was lucky enough to have a wonderful stylist called Sharron Daly work with me throughout my advertising career

This was for a game called Scruples and illustrates one of the questions "Would you laugh if your friend got a bad wig!
We always had great fun constructing mad theatrical sets in my studio - this one was for British Telecom and was about good taste!
We frequently flooded my studio but this was the biggest water feature we ever built - it was for Hardy's Wine
This water set was too big for my studio - it was for a Fanta Holiday promotion but they didn't have the budget to send us to the Caribbean so we shot it in West London!
Tango decided to produce a "saucy" calendar featuring their can to promote a new flavour and asked me to contribute three images - we had enormous fun creating The Lovers, Bondage and Nurse Can-Can - the client thought I needed help.......
This series were part of a campaign called "Safe Sets" aimed to get students to get a TV licence!
This poster for Jim Beam was based on an original promotional still for the 1941 movie but we had to create our own Wolfman as the original was copyright protected!
Another shot for Jim Beam and another challenge for the model-makers - I think the copyline was "Read my lips - I said 6 Jim Beams".............
We were always being asked to shoot sunny summer days in the middle of winter, or stretching a budget that wouldn't run to a costly location - this was for "Butter"
This lady was a marvellous actress we worked with a lot, I have always loved the way she is gripping her pearls as she prepares for the horrors of the blocked loo!
This was the largest group of people I have had to direct - there are around 250 and co-ordinating them to all look into the camera at the same moment was a challenge! I shouted at them through a megaphone and I had a big sound system installed and we played "You'll Never Walk Alone" at full volume and they all sang - it was rather moving......
This was part of a campaign for Shell who were using a Star Trek theme - another great character actor from our team......
Premium Bonds wanted a series of shots showing a range of people "leaping" for joy at winning a prize - we built a series of amazing sets in my studio including a pub and a library
In the pre-Digital days we tried to do everything in camera and this set-up was one of the most complicated we ever tackled - I love the little touches like the "Dolphin" light that is still on and the goldfish staying in its bowl!
