Brian would have his hair trimmed at any opprtunity and here he is backstage at NBC studios in New York for the Hullabaloo TV show.
Mick signing the tour program for a fan backstage - I love this shot as you can see my famous Caged photo in the program!
At most venues the local press & TV would want interviews and the band were always co-operative and willing, but some of the questions were so lame.......
Hanging out for hours in pretty ghastly dressing-rooms meant that any distraction was eagerly jumped on!
A quiet moment back stage for Mick & Keith.
After the tour finished the band had a few days off before they went into the studio and Keith invited me and Ronnie Schneider (the tour accountant) to go riding overnight in Arizona......
Keith brought us guns, chaps and stetsons and he looked cool and Billy the Kid like, but Ronnie and I just looked silly........
We all had the most amazing time, camping under the desert stars, herding cattle and shooting the hell out of my hat!
Keith with his Hummingbird guitar
Mick recording with the microphone that had supposedly been used by Elvis Presley
Brian played many instruments and here is working on the Hammond organ
Charlie's skills were remarkable but he never stopped practising
Mick at RCA studios - there is very little surviving colour from these sessions but several were used in the Big Hits High Tide Green Grass package
Keith & Bill recording tracks for what would become the Aftermath album
Jack Nitzsche was an important collaborator on these sessions
Producer and manager Andrew Loog Oldham with the master engineer Dave Hassinger oversaw the sessions
